Three inspirational and vital charities will benefit. Our goals are extremely ambitious. Quite simply, by the end of the tour our goal is that the Angels – Beacons of Hope initiative will have maximised opportunities to generate substantial funding for the chosen charities.
Gaisce
Gaisce - The President's Award is Ireland's National Challenge Award, the country's most prestigious and respected individual award programme and a challenge from the President of Ireland, to young people between 15 and 25 years of age. Gaisce – The President's Award is a member of the International Award Association of National Challenge Awards Worldwide.
First Step Georgia
First Step Georgia (FSG) was established in 1998 in response to the horrendous living condition of disabled orphans in Georgia. The charity now runs a variety of programmes for children and young adults with special needs in a variety of locations throughout the country. FSG is an Irish charity whose patron is former President Mary Robinson.
Mission:
First Step Georgia FSG provides suitable living environments for children and young adults with special needs through various programmes:
- Residential Care
- Education/day care
- Home based care
- Empowering parents
- Semi independent living
- Job coaching for young adults
The aim of FSG is to improve the lives of intellectually and physically disabled children, to remove the stigma which society continues to harbour against imperfections in children and to provide a level of care which allows these children and young adults to lead normal lives.

Right to Sight
Right to Sight is driven by the desire to empower local people through clinical and management training, which will result in long term sustainability and success. Right to Sight works alongside charities, hospitals, clinics, and governments.
Right to Sight is a unique collection of world experts hailing from the corporate sector, the eye-care sector and the government sector, brought together with the specific goal of eliminating preventable blindness in the world.
Mission:
To eradicate the global crisis of preventable blindness through the use of proven, leading edge techniques in cost recovery, training and surgical practice.
